Raspberry Jam is a tile-matching game. In a world partially made of candies, desserts and snacks, a rabbit named Bunny needs the player's help with collecting specific treats on checkerboards. The player unlocks new levels and acquires stars, butterscotch swirl coins, and rewards with every win. Their winnings allow them to eventually unlock level and star chests that contain sweet rewards as well.
Each level features the number of available moves, the tasks and a vertical star progress bar on the left side of the screen and three boosters on the right. The central board contains various standard sweets, including chocolates, cupcakes, donuts, ice cream bars, lollipops, meringues and waffles. On some levels, the player must collect uncommon items like color-matched gummy bears.
The player typically completes a collection task by aligning three identical or color-matched sweets. That said, they can also create a high-value, super-sized sweet by aligning four matching pieces in a square. With five in a line, they can create a rainbow swirl super candy that collects all of one type with a single move.
The game is named Raspberry Jam for several reasons. When the player completes a match, the column or row that featured the matched pieces fills with raspberry jam. This action increases the value of sweets on that line, which means that a match-3 set can be worth more than the standard three pieces. On some levels, the player must also perform matches on columns and rows that feature empty jars to fill the containers with raspberry jam.
The game's boosters help the player to complete their tasks. A blue scoop collects a single sweet from the board, a cart removes a column, and a cat's paw collects all of one type. The player uses their butterscotch coins to buy more.
