Quick Draw is a timed word-guessing game with a drawing component similar to Pictionary and other charades games. Instead of the player competitively guessing words with a teammate against other teams, they attempt to earn a high score by helping an anime-style pixelated character guess six words per round. The player completes this task by drawing objects that match the words.
The game provides the player with an angled red pencil as a drawing tool. It replaces their normal cursor on a section of the screen that looks like tan paper. In the upper-left corner, it provides them with a panel that outlines the number of seconds remaining and the number of completed rounds.
Quick Draw displays the word each round in the center of the screen against a temporary cloudy background. The player uses the pencil to attempt to draw a representation of the word with nothing more than black graphite lines. The character guesses in a lower-right dialogue panel.
The player doesn't need to be a great artist. The entire point of the game is that they sketch an object that matches the word and complete each round quickly.
For example, if the game gives the player "water slide" as the prompt, they merely need to draw a single wavy vertical line that looks like the side of a slide. If necessary, they can double the available time by viewing advertising videos. At the end of the six rounds, they can double their score the same way.
