Pool Master is a sports game that mimics real pool but with several differences. Across 100 levels, the player completes tasks on a virtual pool table. Their primary goals are to win gold coins and three stars per level. They can also upgrade the aim and force of their cue, or pool stick, and perform cue and table design changes.
On a level, the player reviews the number of available balls and their task in the upper-center area. For example, they might receive three white cue balls and a goal to sink two colored solid or striped balls into the table pockets.
The game provides the player with guidelines that help them direct their shots. The lines often provide the player with a tool that guarantees a precision shot. That said, they can miss a pocket if they fail to align the tip of a line just right, which can happen any time the game challenges them by reducing the length or number of lines. If they pot the cue ball, they lose one of their turns.
Pool Master offers three booster buttons in the upper-right area. The player can use the first one to move the cue ball to any position on the table. The second booster reverses a move. Lastly, they can make a precision shot with a red targeting aid.
