Pocket Tower is a world-building and business-management game that challenges a player with building a massive structure with over 100 floors filled with commercial businesses and residences. The player can also expand their world to build a city or interact with other players online in virtual city and chat spaces.
The player initially receives a ground-level lobby, first-floor hotel, second-floor confectionary store and third-floor laundry. Each floor is like a box stacked on top of the one below it. The game shows the player how to perform various tasks from the start, including collect revenues from businesses, purchase items to run or expand businesses, use the elevator to receive new residents, visitors and workers, hire employees for various floors and add construction levels. For example, the player might hire a new resident to work on a business floor.
Pocket Tower offers several business options in the Fashion, Recreation, Food, Electronics and Services industries. The player must choose specific types of businesses in these categories to spread throughout the tower between residences. They also complete other achievements required to progress through the game and receive cash and coins for their efforts. After they unlock nine floors, they can start expanding to see cities. After they complete 20 floors of their building, they can unlock chat. The game even provides them with an option in the settings to invite their friends to play.
