Defend the old homestead against zombies! This fanbase demo version of Plants vs Zombies, a tower-defense game that features anthropomorphic plants used as weapons to kill an attacking horde of zombies, offers several demo modes for many fun hours of gameplay. As with the full version, a player defends their home in the front or back yard with a wide range of ferociously protective plants.
The player starts with a yard of dirt, grass or a patchwork of dirt and grass. If necessary, they can plant grass. They then receive access to seed packets for the many available defensive plants, including peashooters that damage zombies, short and tall wall-nuts that block zombies and potato land mines and cherry bombs that blow up and disintegrate zombies. Additional plants include cabbage and kernel catapults, spikeweed, starfruit and bamboo shooters and bonk choy and zombie trap melee fighters. Some plants cause minimal or gradual damage. Other plants disintegrate an entire section of the horde with a single blow.
The player buys plants with sun points earned by growing sunflowers that spawn collectible floating suns. Once they have enough points, they select and place plants in different areas of the yard.
