Pin Detective is a pull-the-pin game with find-the-clues and hidden-object elements. The player helps a detective solve mysteries by accurately solving various logic-puzzle problems. They also help her defend against monsters and mad scientists and find assistance with her investigation along the way.
The player starts by watching events unfold at a mansion. They then help the detective perform pull-the-pin actions to gain the tools they need to successfully investigate while exploring the estate. They also collect coins in different areas that they can use to update the detective's appearance. If desired, they can multiply coins they also win at the end of each level by viewing ads.
Pin Detective directs the player to progress through the story via chapters (i.e., Chapter 1. Mystery Manor, Chapter 2. Mystery Manor Lab, Chapter 3. Elizabeth is Back, and so on). That said, the story and associated seemingly endless levels are only one aspect of the game.
On the home screen, the player can unlock money and secret pins via daily rewards. They can also perform decorative changes and renovate areas in the detective's office and at other locations with their coins. For example, they might add new lighting and furniture to the office.
