Piece of Cake: Merge and Bake is a mystery game that features business simulation and merge elements. The player helps a young woman named Emily restore her family's ruined caf� and learn more about her mysterious grandpa.
Emily must clean out the trash and junk in the caf� building and then complete demolition, repair, replacement and various decorating projects. Emily's helped by other in-game characters. The player aids in these efforts, reveals new characters, and learns more about the story by completing merges of matching items on a merge board filled with basic starter items and boxes.�
The player creates permanent and temporary generators that help them reveal new items. They then complete orders with these items and use the cash to restore the caf� and reveal new areas of the story. They also receive a sticker board that gives them gem rewards every time they create a new item. Each generator uses energy that they can recharge fast with gemstones. Gems also allow them to open extra slots in the item inventory storage.
Emily's and the player's adventure doesn't stop with the interior of the caf�. Over time, the player unlocks other areas of the building and even other locations, such as the fa�ade, kitchen, guestroom, garden, food truck, beach bar and art studio.
