Pets Go! Mahjong is a casual connect-line tile-matching game similar to Pet Connect EX and other art-focused fantasy animal and monster brands like Pok�mon, Dynamons and Digimon. This self-paced game tasks the player to clear different backgrounds of tiles across levels in pairs, similar to Chinese Mahjong.
The player can only remove tiles that rest in adjacent positions or across gaps and along edges with no more than three connecting lines and two 90-degree angles between the tiles. That said, the game doesn't show the connecting lines. Instead, it displays one glowing line between valid matches.
The fronts of the tiles feature various pets and other domestic and wild animals designed with cube bodies and other fantasy elements. These creatures include cats, dogs, goldfish, snakes, horses, parrots, spiders, steers, raccoons, penguins, peacocks, lions and lambs. Some tiles also feature different versions of unicorns, snowmen, sock monkeys, multi-headed monsters, grim reapers, devils and angels, cyborg pets, and anthropomorphic rainbow cakes.
Pets Go! Mahjong provides the player with 20 hints in the first level via a magnifier button in the upper-left corner. The number of hints doesn't reset with each new level. Instead, the player must watch videos to earn five new ones after they run out of the initial free ones.
That said, the game also helps the player find matches. If they run out of moves, it autoshuffles the remaining tiles into new positions that reveal matches.
