Pet Fall is a block puzzle, sliding-tile game similar to classic arcade Tetris and modern Funkee Worms, Haru Panda Slide, Slide Stone and Sliding Gems. In a lake valley at the base of rugged peaks, the player collects a specific number of animals per level by sliding square and rectangular animal tiles across rows on a 10x10 gradient blue board to form lines.
Although the game has "pet" in the title, the animals aren't pets (i.e., alligators, bears, cows, elephants, foxes, monkeys, pigs and polar bears). With each turn, it drops a set of one or more tiles onto the top row. The player must slide one of the tiles to the left or right so that the set can drop into empty spaces between other tiles. The game removes each completed line from the board and tracks the number of collected animals in the upper-left area.
If the player collects a specific number of animals across levels, they receive a bronze, silver or gold medal in the lower-right area. If they allow the tiles to pile up to the top of the board, some of the animals cry, and the game ends.
Pet Fall features match-3 concepts. For example, the game sometimes drops animal tiles in ice that only breaks if the player creates a line with an ice tile in it. That said, the tile doesn't disappear when the game removes the other tiles in the line. Additionally, it offers several boosters, if the player is willing to watch ad videos, including rockets that take out tiles along rows and columns and bombs that feature a blast radius.
