Oceanscapes: Secrets of the Lost Treasure is an underwater match-3 game. The player looks for treasures along the ocean floor by collecting a specific number of sea creatures (i.e., crab claws, jellyfish and starfish) and various objects on boards across levels. Their main goals per level are to complete tasks before they run out of moves, earn three stars, achieve a high score, and earn enough coins to buy boosters.
The player aligns three or more matching creatures along a column or row. They can use special items and boosters to remove non-matching creatures and objects as well. They create the special items, such as metal spearhead rockets and color-matched bombs, by matching four or more creatures. If they match five, they receive a rainbow compass that removes all creatures of one color from a board.�
The game provides the player with one free access per booster. They buy and access additional ones on the right side of the screen. Boosters include magic hammers, rainbow mega bombs and blue orbs. With the rainbow bombs, for example, they can clear an entire board. With blue orbs, they can shuffle all creatures into new positions.
Many similar games permit the player to activate a special item by double selecting it. Oceanscapes: Secrets of the Lost Treasure requires the player to include the item in a match-3 line.�
