Ocean Pop is a bubble-popping game from the gravity subcategory. In a dark ocean that looks almost like outer space, the player helps the main character complete bubble-popping tasks with a limited number of moves.
The player doesn't receive a projectile shooter. Instead, they use their cursor like a pin to pop groups of two or more matching adjacent ones. Their tasks include collecting a specific number of bubbles by color and size and specific items. They also rescue the character's cute children.
The game presents the different bubbles in a bouncy mass at the center of the screen. It is most similar to gravity space shooters because the ocean movements push the bubbles into a clustered position. When the player pops some bubbles, the voids they create fill almost immediately with the closest nearby mixed bubbles and other hidden bubbles floating in the water. This aspect of the game helps the player attract the most bubbles they need to complete a task with a single move.
Ocean Pop features some matching aspects similar to match-3 puzzles. When the player pops four or more matching adjacent bubbles, they create special tools. For example, they can create a rocket that removes a large group of mixed ones horizontally.
