Nut Sort: Build the City is a sorting game that features a city-building element. Given that people usually work most efficiently when hardware pieces are organized by color, the player must sort nuts painted with different colors on white bolts to create stacks of matching ones. They then use the collected nuts to build recreations of some of the world's most famous cities.
The player receives two or more short, medium or tall bolts and mixed stacks of nuts. They must transfer one or more matching nuts to unused bolts or spaces above matching ones. When they select a nut and a bolt, the game performs an automatic transfer to the bolt.
The game provides the player with three helpful tools. The player can use a light bulb button to watch an animation of the solution to a level, a back arrow button to reverse a move, and a button marked with a plus (+) sign and bolt to add an extra empty bolt to the play area. They also receive a daily rewards gift box in the upper-left corner of the main screen.
Nut Sort: Build the City provides the player with a Build button to access the city models. When presented with an empty cityscape, the player presses the Hold to Build button to transfer the nuts to the land as building blocks. The game auto-builds popular, well-known structures in features cities that include London, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Istanbul, New York, Barcelona, Cairo, Tokyo, Mexico City, Delhi, and Dubai.
