Nail Salon: Marie's Girl Games is a first-person makeover game that simulates the work performed by a professional nail salon manicurist or technician. The player cleans and moisturizes the hands, cleans, trims and files nails, applies polish, patterns or decorative embellishments, and uses makeup to even out skin tone.
The game presents two hands on a pillow with the fingers pointing downward on the screen, which is how a manicurist or technician would see them in a salon. The player must remove the old nail polish from each fingernail, trim the rough edges, and file and smooth the surfaces. They rinse the bare and natural hands and fingers. After they use soap and perform a second rinse and drying of the hands, they apply moisturizer, rub the cream into the skin, rinse the hands again, and finish drying the hands one last time. The player then selects a nail polish color or pattern with or without jewels and makeup for the back of the hands.
Nail Salon: Marie's Girl Games doesn't offer a camera button or similar option. If the player wants to use ideas from the game to decorate their hands or share the designs with their friends, they must use their computer or phone to save a screenshot or snip.
