My Town Home: Family Playhouse is a paper doll and playhouse simulation game. Both children and adult players can explore their imaginations as they wander through a virtual home and make discoveries. They can also play dress-up and pretend with the characters.
A large family of paper dolls lives in a two-story home that has front and back yards, a living room, a kitchen and play area, a shared bath and laundry room, and three bedrooms. The game initially prompts the player to perform specific tasks, such as spin a chance wheel to acquire collectible stickers to apply to a photo album that reveals extra scenes.
Afterward, the player can go anywhere on the property pointed out by arrow signs. Automated and interactive elements exist in each scene. A background or foreground object might move on its own, as seen with fish floating in a tank. The player can also perform specific actions, such as flipping switches, opening doors, turning on a radio or TV, or sprinkling seeds on soil. If they reposition a character, its pose changes as well.
My Town Home: Family Playhouse also prompts the player to collect red hearts that unlock special gifts that they can add to a scene and interact with in various ways. In all scenes, the player can use some objects as they would in the real world. For example, they can use crayons to draw pictures to tape to the walls in the play area and access, prepare and serve beverages and food in the kitchen.
