My Sweet World is a semi-idle, world-building adventure game. The player starts as a little girl avatar wearing pigtails and a backpack. Local inhabitants of a world known as Candyland ask the character for help with cutting down candy trees, building structures, and performing other tasks. They follow her around the landscape while she performs a variety of tasks. They also provide her with hints and instructions.
The player deals with different materials and resources found in Candyland. For example, their avatar carries an axe. When the player directs her to walk up to a tree, she automatically uses the axe to chop it into pieces. They can use the candy to pay to build a trading post and a separate candy storage structure, open up hidden areas of the landscape, and trade for golden coins that open up other areas. The land naturally restores the resources over time, which means the player can return multiple times to the same area to acquire resources.
My Sweet World also offers upgrade options. The game is semi-idle because the player can use their resources to hire workers to perform tasks for them. For example, the player can set up a worker who cuts down trees and carries the pieces to the candy storage. They can also upgrade the avatar's backpack to increase its capacity and find keys to unlock parts of the landscape.
