Monopoly is an online version of the classic Parker Brothers / Hasbro board game of the same name. It is a multiplayer game that requires at least two players and accepts up to four players in total. Each player provides a username and selects a color and a classic token to represent them on the board. Gameplay is turn-based with simple mechanics and one ultimate goal. A player must own everything by the end of the game. They can either buy all the properties or wait for their opponents to go bankrupt.
The game starts in a virtual living room with a standard Monopoly board, token pieces, dice and money on a wide brown coffee table. Every player receives a certain amount of money for their bank balance. When it's a player's turn, they use the button labeled with a die to roll the dice on the board. The game auto-rolls the dice and then moves the player's token around the board on spaces marked with the names of properties and other related elements. The player receives opportunities to buy rental properties, utilities and other structures. The next player then rolls and repeats the process. If a player wants to see their current properties and cash, they use the button marked with a list.
Monopoly makes the gameplay interesting in different ways. If a token drops in the jail area of the board, the player loses money. If it reaches the free parking space, they receive another roll. With a chance option, the player might receive good or bad luck based on the card they draw from a deck.
It's important to note that Monopoly features advertising that bypasses adblocking extensions. The players can bypass these ads with a skip button, but the frequency of the advertising is high.
