Mike and Mia: 1st Day at School is a dress-up and education game. The player helps Mike and Mia perform all the tasks they need to complete to have a great first day.
The player must complete a variety of tasks. They help the toddlers find and put away items, brush their teeth, match and pop bubbles of different shapes, wash and dress up, cut fruits into slices, make and grill fruit sandwiches and decorate sandwiches. They also learn how to match fur patterns to specific animals, count items, and write numbers.
Mike and Mia: 1st Day at School offers two opportunities to dress up the toddlers. Tne player can pick parts of outfits right after the bath. They can also make more extensive changes during a second change of clothes, such as update the toddlers' hairstyles, hats, hairbands or hair ties, shirts, pants or skirts, accessories and shoes. They can even reveal hidden eyeglasses by watching an advertisement. The player performs each task manually or uses a die that randomly selects items. They can also choose different sandwich toppings and container emblems and colors.
