Merge Flower is a casual match-3 and merge sorting game with a career simulation element. The player works in a plant nursery at an outdoor counter. Their job is to provide customers with specific whole flowering plants by sorting blossoms by color and type in the correct order.
The player receives a large mix of blossoms affixed to a green wall on the lower half of the screen. They must make their selections based on the flower icons displayed on labels on the side of customers' pots. When they choose the correct blossoms in a group of three per pot, the flowers merge with green stems and leaves, light fills the screen, and butterflies appear. The customer then departs with their whole plant. The player must clear all blossoms from the wall to proceed to the next level. As they explore new levels, they unlock new flowering plants.
Merge Flower provides the player with eight empty spaces above the selection area to help them remove some unwanted flowers to uncover the wanted ones. If the player runs out of space, they can use the ad-supported prop-style boosters below the area (i.e., flower blossoms, a box and shears) to help them.
That said, the player doesn't need to use the spaces without a plan. They can also see layers of hidden blossoms in shadows behind front ones, which means that they can strategically select front blossoms to uncover hidden ones. If they run out of space, they can view a video to open an empty pot and remove some flowers from the spaces.
