Merge Fantasy is a merge crafting game similar to Craft Castle, Merge Harvest, The Mergest Kingdom and Tropical Merge. With the help of magical floating balls known as glowkins, the player gathers and merges materials, earns and locates treasures, and performs other tasks to restore a ruined magical land. During their journey, they also discover dragons, dragon eggs and dragon scales.
The player directs the actions of five glowkin workers at any given time to remove small and large rocks, trees, gold, crystals and other common natural objects from a grass checkerboard landscape. From this removal work, they receive building materials like bricks and logs that they can merge to create brick and plank piles, respectively. During some harvests, they receive other items, such as chests, keys and potions.
The game prompts the player to then build various structures. As they level up over time, they receive gold coins and blue stars. They can exchange the coins for whatever they need instead of gathering materials. The stars help them to continue to level up. Additionally, they receive towns where they can exchange fully constructed buildings for rewards and reveal new pieces of the landscape hidden under low clouds.
Merge Fantasy allows the player to sell anything they find or create for additional coins except special glowkins. In the game's shop, the player can also acquire some items by viewing ads. They can track their progress with gathered items using a ringed notepad and quill icon.
It's important to note that the game challenges the player with a limited number of glowkins to perform work. Glowkins are necessary to complete almost every task. Some of the player's actions can result in a penalty that leaves them with a negative number of workers they must find a way to offset.
