Merge and Blast + 2048 is a connect-style block-matching game similar to Cube Blaster 2048 and Tiles of the Unexpected. The player merges clusters of two or more adjacent numbered blocks on a 5x7 grid to create higher-numbered blocks. They also attempt to earn the most coins, points and purple gems possible.
The player merges adjacent matching blocks from any direction (i.e., horizontal, vertical and diagonal). For example, two side-by-side 8 blocks create an 8 block and two diagonal 32 blocks create a 64 block. That said, all blocks merge at the selection spot. As a result, the new block appears on the grid in the spot the player selected within the cluster.
The game presents the score in the upper-center area. It displays the all-time best score and coins in the upper-left area. The player can use the coins to buy access to a swap booster that allows them to swap two blocks anywhere on the grid and a hammer booster that allows them to remove a block at any time.
Merge and Black +2048 also offers a side achievement game. When the player creates certain blocks, the game performs a "blast" that makes a collectible item appear on the screen, such as an animal, piece of clothing or everyday object. The player earns bonus coins when they complete a category collection, such as all animals, clothing or tools.
