Merge 2048 Cake is a connect-style merge game that features 2048 elements. It tasks the player to merge colorful, candy-coated, round-cornered square cakes on white plates in columns and rows for as long as possible.
Each cake is marked with a number. The player can only merge three or more color- and number-matched cakes connected with dark lines. They select a single cake in a cluster, and all the rest merge toward that spot. After the merge, a new cake in a different color appears with a higher number.
The merge process follows 2048 rules for the most part. Clusters that contain three or more matching numbers create a new cake that's the sum of a single pair. For example, whether the player selects a cluster of three, five or even seven number 8 cakes, the game always creates a 16 cake.
During play, Merge 2048 Cake displays the player's score in the upper-center area and their coin balance in the upper-right corner. The player earns coins by selecting clusters that have tiny coins attached to the lower-right corners of some cakes.
The player uses their coins to purchase access to three boosters below the grid. For example, they can use a rocket to remove one cake that's not connected to any other ones, which allows the remaining cakes to fall into the gap and possibly form a larger cluster. They can also shuffle the cakes into optimal positions.
