Mayan Marbles is a bubble-popping game set in areas once ruled by the Mayan civilization. Across 25 locations that include villages, temples, jungles and riverlands, the player attempts to remove bubble marbles affixed to a central post accented with a golden mask before they run out of time. They also attempt to earn high bonus points in addition to standard ones.
The post rotates in different directions with the marbles affixed to it like a wheel. The player uses a stylized metal arrowhead shooter on a stone platform to shoot matching marble projectiles at the pattern. They can only pop groups of three or more matching marbles. If they fail, the game waits until a horizontal red bar loses color and then affixes more bubbles to the wheel. When they succeed, the bubbles burst to release colored smoke that then fades.
Mayan Marbles displays the red penalty bar, the current level and the player's current score on a wood panel attached to a stone column to the right of the field. It also uses this area to show the timer counting down to zero.
