Maya Pyramid Solitaire is a timed card game based on the classic simple addition game known as Elevens Solitaire. The player attempts to earn enough coins to buy stone pieces to install on one side of a Mayan pyramid by adding face-up cards marked 1 through 10 to equal the number 11. They also attempt to earn bonus coins by performing the same task with mixed-numbered buttons.
If the player fails, they must restart, which is easier said than done. The game reduces the amount of time available after the first attempt. The only way the player can restore the clock is by starting over entirely.
The player can't use partially covered cards. They must unlayer those cards first. Although they receive three Joker cards in the lower-right area to add to any card, an element of chance often makes those cards not enough to help the player win.
Maya Pyramid Solitaire displays the current score and coins in the upper-left area and the goal and time in the upper-right area. Besides the face-up cards at the center of the field, the game provides purple draw cards and two face-up cards below it. Any time the player uses these cards, the game pulls an extra card each time that reduces the size of the pile quickly.
The good news is that the player can select cards in any direction. For example, if the two face-up cards in the lower area equal 11, the player can select those cards instead of any on the field. That said, they can only select one card on the field and one Joker at a time.
