Mahjong Earth is a tile-matching based on Chinese Mahjong. The player's goal is to remove all tiles from a playfield to reveal a fantasy nature scene. They also attempt to earn an amazing score and enough gold stars to rank high on a global leaderboard.
The game features over 250 traditional and custom modern patterns of layered white tiles. On the home screen, the player can choose Quick Play and any random pattern selected by the game or Layouts and a specific pattern of their choice.
Each tile features nature imagery, such as birds, butterflies, flowers, insects, mushrooms and trees. Some tiles also display daytime, nighttime and season images. The player removes the tiles in matching pairs. They can only remove uncovered ones that have an open left or right side. A selected tile turns green. The game also offers a lightbulb hint button and a magnifier button to reveal matches.
Mahjong Earth provides other helpful buttons in spots around the pattern. If the player makes an incorrect move, they can use the semicircular back arrow button. They can also reshuffle the tiles to reveal new pairs with the twisted arrows button.
The player can multiply their points by completing matches quickly. They can track the multiplier at the top center of the screen. They can also track points and stars in this area.�
