Mahjong 3D Match is a three-dimensional match-3 game that features floating blocks decorated with Chinese Mahjong tile characters and symbols. The player's goal is to remove the blocks from hundreds of levels before time runs out by selecting sets of three identical ones at a time.
The game presents the blocks in different patterns. Although the player can select any visible block on most levels, they must sometimes select non-matching blocks to access matching ones. In this way, the game is more like the FreeCell solitaire card game.
The player receives six open spaces in a vertical column on the left side of the screen. If they're willing to view advertisements, they can unlock two more. When they select the Mahjong blocks, the game automatically transfers the pieces to the spaces. If the player doesn't perform matches and uses every cell, including the unlocked ones, they lose.
Mahjong 3D Match offers four booster abilities. On the right side of the screen, they can use a back arrow button to undo a move, a fan in a box to shuffle the blocks, a magnifying glass to highlight and reveal three matching pieces, and an hourglass to restore a star and time on the horizontal timer bar.
