Magic Match 3 is a match-3 game set in a magical kingdom. To explore the interior of a castle, the player returns to a stone path in the garden on each level to play match-3 games. They're tasked with collecting a specific number of items and completing other goals on checkerboards for the kingdom's king and queen before they run out of moves. They earn gold coins for their efforts.
The player collects items and performs additional tasks, such as breaking boxes and removing grass squares, by swapping two items in a column or row to create a line of three or more matching items. They can also make special items, mega special items and boosters. When they create a connected row and column in the shape of an L, they make a TNT bomb. If they create a horizontal or vertical line of four items, they make a row or column rocket, respectively. If they create a box of four items, they form a propeller spinning top. With five matching items, they make a spinning disco-style lightning ball.�
Magic Match 3 mega items appear when the player slides one special item toward another special item. For example, two TNT bombs form a mega bomb, and two tops form a trio of tops. A rocket and a top randomly reposition a rocket anywhere on the board before it takes out a row or column.�
Boosters unlock as the player successfully moves through the levels. By Level 21, they can also join teams and receive free lives and rewards.
