Mad Cat is a hypercasual chaos game in which the player's only objective is to earn points while helping an orange-and-white cat rearrange the furniture in their owner's apartment and destroy unwanted pieces. They earn the most points by destroying absolutely every piece of furniture.
The apartment appears as a floating floor without walls or a ceiling. The owner is a bit odd. While the player directs the cat around the room, the owner moves slowly in different directions and dry-dusts the floor with a white dust mop while wearing a red full-face gas mask.
The player can make the crazy feline bump into and knock over furniture and other objects, push items into new positions, or push items off the edge of the floating floor entirely. When they push an item off the floor into the open air, the piece explodes. The game rewards the player with points. Some pieces, like sculptures and vases, shatter apart into shards in the room.
Mad Cat doesn't expect a lot from the player. The player merely needs to keep the cat away from the owner. If it comes close while her hand is on the mop, the game ends. The player must then watch an advertisement to continue with their current points or start over with a new room and furniture.
The player can destroy every object in the room across unlimited levels. They can also direct the cat to food that temporarily makes it move and get away faster.
