Love Archer is a casual logic-puzzle game with shooter mechanics. The player directs Cupid to make romantic matches between characters by shooting arrows at each one and at obstacles. Their ultimate goals are to create unique kids and build a safe island haven where the kids can play.
In the game's main mode, the player uses a targeting line and various tools, including portals, pulleys, ropes, counterweights and platforms, to complete their task. When they unite two characters, the pair becomes intimate behind dust clouds and then produces a kid.
The player can match characters within the same species or with a different one. For example, they can match humans with humans, cats, chickens, dogs, snakes, tigers and other animals, and even creatures like angels, devils, orcs, phoenixes, skeletons and unicorns.
The game sorts offspring into five categories (i.e., Common, Cool, Super, Rare and Epic). A Common kid comes from matching characters in the same species. Any other match produces a kid in one of the other categories. If the player is willing to watch ad videos, they can also access extremely rare adult characters, such as a sphinx, to mate with a human, other animal or creature.
Love Archer offers many side games. In the first one, the player uses gemstones to unlock island locations for the kids, including a tree house and a checkerboard music area. In the second one, they use a huge crossbow and arrows to match giant animals and creatures with humans and other characters. In the third one, they clean up down-on-their-luck male characters and create matches by using a dating app similar to Tinder called Pinder.
