Letter Dimensions is a timed, three-dimensional cube-matching game similar to Mahjong. Across 40 levels, the player removes stacks of blocks on circular rotational platforms. They receive points every time they win a level.
The blocks in a stack display letters from the alphabet in different colors. The player can only remove a block that has at least two free sides. The first selected block always appears in the upper-left area before the player selects the second matching block. A timer counts down in the upper-left corner.
To win a level, the player must clear all blocks before time runs out. The game allows them to rotate the stack with left and right arrow buttons to make finding pairs easier. It also allows them to match blocks of different colors that have the same letter. For example, they can match a gray O block with a red O block.
Letter Dimensions awards the player extra points based on their timed play. If they completely remove a stack before time runs out, they receive bonus points. They receive a higher number of points when they're quick at clearing a level and have a lot of remaining time at the end.
