Let The Train Go is a parking-style logic-puzzle game in the sorting category. The player must move vehicles of different colors, models, shapes and sizes parked near or on a train track to allow a high-speed bullet train to pass through the area so that it can continue its journey to a destination. Beyond parking games, Let The Train Go is most like the Save Lazy Fish and Save Stranding Fish sorting games and the Tap Away and Unblock Cube 3D sliding block games.
The rules are easy, but not the gameplay. The player must sort the vehicles in a specific order to unblock the tracks. With some levels, they might need to rearrange dozens of vehicles before they can let the train go. The vehicles include short, medium, and long, speedy standard, police and race cars, ambulances, vans and trucks.
Let The Train Go doesn't require complex moves with the controls. Instead, the player must imagine how to remove the parked vehicles and perform the task in the correct order. Once they've unblocked a vehicle, by prompting one or more other vehicles to move out of the way, they can prompt that vehicle to move out of the way as well.
The player doesn't need to remove every vehicle from the playfield on each level. They only need to unblock the track. That said, they often need to remove an entire section of vehicles in one area to prompt vehicles off the track in another area.
When the player completes their task successfully, the game congratulates them and throws confetti across the screen.
