Knock The Ball is a shooting game that tasks a player with destroying a variety of structures using red-and-white, striped, bouncing balls shot from a cannon. The structures sit on raised platforms in colorful skies where clouds float and roll by the screen. Each structure is made of blocks commonly found in classic, building and construction sets for children, including cubes, cylinders, cones and unique arch shapes.
The player shoots only one ball at a time at first. They eventually earn extra balls and the ability to shoot two balls at a time. Every level features several sublevels with unique stationary or moving structures. A platform can sometimes have objects moving around in front of it that temporarily obstruct any ball from hitting a constructed target. The final sublevel features a "boss" structure that looks like a large building or moving targets or objects.
In Knock The Ball, the player must replay every sublevel to finish a level if they fail for any reason. The line of sight also isn't exact, which means the player must practice aligning the cursor at the best possible position to prevent the cannon from shooting the edge of a platform or too high above a target.
