Jigsaw Surprise is a tiling puzzle game that simulates real-world jigsaw puzzle play. The player attempts to recreate stunning high-quality photographs of a wide range of indoor and outdoor scenes by aligning jigsaw puzzle pieces. They can also set a timer and then replay a game to beat their last-best time for completing a specific puzzle.
The game offers three modes (i.e., Easy, Medium and Hard). The size of the photo and the number of pieces are based on the level of difficulty. For example, easy puzzles are small with fewer pieces. Each piece also seems larger.
The player uses the upper-right three-line menu button to adjust the sound, music and timer settings. If they decide to use a timer, they can check the time in the upper-left corner of the play screen.
Jigsaw Surprise displays a photograph for a moment and then drops puzzle pieces on a virtual tabletop. The player can zoom in and out by using a slider in the upper-right area. They can use a puzzle piece button to prompt the game to automatically organize the edge pieces on one side of the table and the rest of the pieces on the other side. If they need to see the original uncut image at any time, they can use the button marked with an eye.
