Jewels Classic, is a match-3 game set in a magical land with a black cat that wears a wizard's hat. The player is tasked by the cat to reach a target score by collecting a certain number of different types of gemstones on an 8x8 board.
The player collects the gems by creating horizontal and vertical connected lines made of three or more of the same gems, such as emeralds, garnets or rubies. When they complete tasks and a level successfully, the cat rewards them with coins. The game awards extra coins if the player watches an advertisement. The player also receives coins as a daily reward, as a daily mission reward and as a gift.
The player can create or buy special booster gems in Jewels Blitz. If they create a line of four gems, they create a Bomb Gem that removes several non-matching gems at one time. With a line of five gems, they create a Super Gem that removes all of the same gems at one time.
Additional boosters include Cross Gem that takes out all gems along horizontal and vertical rows in a cross shape and a hammer that destroys any single gem. With their coins, the player can also turn any gemstone into a Bomb Gem or Super Gem.
