Jewel Miner Quest is a match-3 game. The player helps a miner collect gemstones by creating sets of three or more adjacent matching jewels on puzzle boards. They win when they complete their goals before running out of moves. They receive coins, special items and boosters as rewards.
The game features uncomplicated match-3 play. To create a set, the player swaps two jewels within one space of two matching jewels. The new alignment forms a line of matching jewels. The game then auto-removes the unneeded jewels and auto-collects the desired ones. If the player matches jewels near collectible items, such as food bowls, the game collects the food in slices and then the bowls.
Jewel Miner Quest's special items and boosters are similar to most games in this category. When the player creates a set of four jewels, they receive a rocket. When they create a set of five, they receive a rainbow-colored bomb that looks like a beach ball. Other unique tools include fizzing fuses that remove jewels in a blast radius and hammers that can remove a single jewel at a time.
On the home screen, the player can play a timed attack mini-game. They can also acquire extra coins, special items and boosters by viewing ad videos, collecting rewards, and playing games.
