Jewel Dress Up is a match-3 puzzle game with a dress-up theme. A character, Grace Monroe, needs the player's help to improve her looks and home. She lives in squalor and can only achieve a better life when the player completes match-3 tasks on game boards and earns coins and stars.
The player matches three or more jewels in columns and rows on each board. They attempt to complete tasks listed in the upper-left area, such as removing specific jewels or collecting slices or whole cakes. They receive a limited number of moves in the upper-right area. With each match, they also charge a rainbow bomb in the upper-center area. They can use it to remove all of the same type of jewel from the board with one move.
Jewel Dress Up rewards the player with the coins and stars they use to help Grace. They can select new clothes and hairstyles and renovate her room. That said, they don't earn three stars per game. They must sometimes play several match-3 games to collect enough. Otherwise, they can earn additional coins and even boosters in various ways, including by viewing ads, claiming daily rewards, and spinning a lucky wheel.
The game also has a Time Attack! mode that allows the player to earn additional rewards if they complete a task in a specific amount of time. This mode appears and disappears on the main dress-up screen at random.
