Holeminator is a three-dimensional, hypercasual game that features ball, brick-breaking and runner elements. A player must prevent a ball that rolls automatically on a track from crashing into bricks. They use a magic hole positioned at a distance in front of the ball to drag away and eliminate blocks and other objects in the ball's path.
The player can't change the position of the ball. As a result, they must think strategically about how they can move the hole to create an opening for the ball to roll down the track. In some levels, the objects rotate or roll around or the force of the swirling of the hole pulls objects into the path without eliminating them, which makes it even harder for the player to calculate the best way to move the hole. If the balls crashes, it shatters into pieces. That said, the game also makes it easier for the hole to eliminate objects by increasing its size as more objects fall into it.
When the player completes a level successfully, they receive several thousand points represented by diamonds. They can use these diamonds to upgrade the appearance of the ball and hole to a variety of fun, patterned designs.
