Hidden Objects: Home Sweet Home is a find-the-object game. A girl tasks the player with cleaning indoor and outdoor areas of her messy home by finding and picking up specific items.
The game features many area-based levels with several search stages, including a bedroom, bathroom, yard, living room and kitchen. The lower-center panel reveals the task items as colored icons, matching silhouettes or descriptive words. The panel also displays the number of stages per level.
Items are often hidden on top of and underneath other items and behind the task panel. In some scenes, one or more items are graffiti or a poster graphic. When the player selects an item, it disappears from both the location and the panel. The score also updates on a separate upper-center panel. If the player selects the wrong item, a red X briefly appears on the screen. They don't receive any hint tools to help them prevent mistakes.
Hidden Objects: Home Sweet Home rewards the player with up to three stars per level. It awards bonus points as well if the player wins all three stars. That said, the player loses a star with each incorrect selection. They must look for an item hidden among objects that have a similar color or shape. They then select it carefully to prevent an accidental star penalty.
