Hidden Cats: Detective Agency is a hidden-object game that features a fun story. A player helps Faye, the owner of the Carrot Detective Studio, and her partner, a cat named Carrot, find missing cats to pay their rent, update their studio and outcompete other detectives.
The player searches for cats in different areas within the city. They're shown the shape, color and name of each cat hiding in the scene in a folder below it. They might find cats anywhere, such as hidden under a storm grate with only their tail sticking out or sleeping behind books. The player uses paw prints on objects and a hint tool to receive clues.
When the cat is hiding behind a person, the player must interact with the person to reveal the cat. The same is true of inanimate objects. If the cat is hiding inside a trash can, they need to interact with the can first to open it and see the missing cat. In many scenes, the player must find the cats before time runs out on a timer. They also need to have enough energy saved up to search.
The player receives a cash reward for every missing cat. They collect double the reward if they also watch an advertisement. Once they have enough money, they can even decorate and renovate the studio.
