Hexa Stack Christmas is a holiday-themed tile-sorting game in the stacking category. In numerous levels across two modes (Classic and Challenges), the player must sort hexagon-shaped tiles, or hexa, on platforms to form and remove stacks that feature only one color and specific Christmas-related icon.
Each tile has a painted surface with a Christmas photo on top. Common images include a happy gingerbread man, a Santa wearing sunglasses, a snowman wearing red knitted gloves, a scarf and a hat, and a toy bear wearing a Santa hat.
In both modes, the player receives three sets of mixed mini stacks below the platform. They must arrange these pieces in ways that prompt the game to auto-flip top tiles onto adjacent matching ones. They continue the stacking process until the one-type stacks grow large enough for auto-removal.
With Classic mode, the game unlocks the next level of play when a tile-collection bar at the top of the screen fills with an unknown number of tiles. With Challenges, the bar displays a specific goal.
Hexa Stack Christmas allows the player to change the view of the platform by zooming out and in with small minus (-) and plus (+) sign buttons in the top-left corner area. The corner also features a glove button removes half the tiles on a platform to make space. The player merely needs to view an advertisement to pay for this booster.
