Helix Jump is a puzzle game with a helix-maze design that challenges a player to move a ball on and between platforms sporadically affixed to the exterior of a long white tower shaped like a pipe for as long as possible. For expanded gameplay, the player also has the option to collect floating diamonds along the way.
The ball bounces automatically on the planks of a platform. The player must shift the tower left and right under the ball to make it move from a single position. The ball leaves paint splashes on surfaces to help guide the player's actions since the ball can only bounce on dark gray planks. If it touches a yellow plank, the game starts over. When it resets, the locations of each platform and diamond change to a new pattern. The player then attempts to beat the number of the last level they reached in the previous game.
As the ball moves, Helix Jump makes paint-splashing and piano-playing sounds and changes the gradient background color and lighting intermittently as the ball progresses down the side of the tower. The player isn't stuck with one kind of ball. They can buy new balls in different colors and patterns after they save enough diamonds.
