Hawaii Match 5 is another fun match-3 puzzle game in the Hawaii Match series. The player follows a winding path through paradise past bars, surf shacks, vacation vans, volcanoes and other areas and objects commonly associated with Hawaii. To progress on the path, they must win match-3 games.
Each game features items related to island life, such as avocados, bananas, blueberries, coconuts, dirt, flowers and seashells. The player must collect one or more of these items to win the game. They complete this task by matching three or more of the same items, or by using boosters that take out mixed items in various directions. Boosters include a swap tool, vertical and horizontal rockets, and an amulet that acts like a hammer.�
The player receives a limited number of moves. They must also attempt to perform collections quickly because it's the only way to earn all three stars that are available per game. For a greater challenge, the game also offers a tournament option on the map screen.�
Hawaii Match 5 allows the player to buy, create and win special items in addition to boosters. When the player matches two groups of three items in an L shape or four or more items in a line, they receive line blast, cross blast and spiral blast special items that act in ways similar to boosters. With a cross blast, for example, the player blasts away a column and row with one move. By swapping two spiral blasts, the items merge and blast away every item on the board.
