Grill Party! is a timed sorting game with a career simulation and match-3 elements. The player sells grilled foods in a restaurant. They must sort items in sets of three on portable grills for sit-down, pickup and delivery orders. Their goals are to earn money, discover hidden treasures in chests, and unlock new foods for their customers.
The game presents the player with steaming hot foods on multiple grills in rows. The main food items are fruit, vegetables and meat on skewers. Other items include non-skewered groups and cut and whole long pieces, such as half-cut pitas, pork chops, sausages and carrots. Some areas have prepped uncooked food resting on white cutting boards below grills.
When the player sorts three items on the same grill, the game auto-removes the pieces. Over time, they can unlock boosters below the grills that help make sorting easier, including a delivery bag that auto-packs a set of food, shuffle arrows that reposition food items on the grills, and an hourglass that reverses time. If necessary, they can also unlock extra grills by viewing advertisements.
Grill Party! requires the player to use various strategies to sort the items. For example, the player might review the items on the cutting boards and then plan their moves so that they're always adding matching items to empty grills.
The player receives coins and boosters. They can triple their coin rewards with ad views. They also receive winnings by completing daily tasks and opening treasure chests. If they run out of time on the upper-center timer, they must use coins or ad views to continue. Other winnings include new faces and clothing items to upgrade the main character's appearance.
