Gold Mini is a sports game based on miniature golf. In walled-off mini-golf areas floating in the sky, the player must direct golf balls into holes before they run out of hits. They start with 50 levels of Simple play. When they finish these easy rounds, they unlock Challenge levels that reduce the number of available hits per level.
The player starts by selecting a ball color in the upper-right area of the home screen. They use left and right arrow buttons to choose between taupe, red and blue. They then use the gear button in the lower-left area to adjust music, sounds and the controls.
The game doesn't allow the player to swing a club. Instead, the player uses their cursor. In this way, the game shares similarities with many popular billiards games. The player slides the cursor in the direction opposite of a thin targeting line that appears onscreen when they start the process.
Golf Mini presents traps commonly found in regular mini golf. The player must often bounce the ball off the walls and other objects to defeat angles, curves, bumps, indentations, windmills and other obstacles. That said, it also has extra challenges, such as missing sections that can result in the ball flying off into the sky.
