Girl Rescue: Dragon Out! is a rescue game that features Bubble Shooter, Sorting, Tower Defense and Zuma elements. From level to level, the player attempts to rescue a princess from a snake-like dragon on a winding road. They can only stop the dragon from reaching her by shooting its scales with bubble projectiles shot from four color-matched cannons.
The player accesses the cannons by selecting painted crates marked with directional arrows below four spaces use as the defensive positions for the cannons. When they select an unblocked crate, it transfers a color-matched cannon to one of these spots. If the player views ad videos, they can unlock two additional cannon positions to make this process move along faster.
The cannons act like a tower defense game by auto-shooting at the dragon when matching scales come into range. After some scales pop, the remaining separate parts of its long body come together across a gap like a Zuma game. The dragon sometimes temporarily reverses its slithering action. Additionally, some shots hit special items that extend the cannon shots, temporarily freeze the dragon's movement, and perform other helpful actions.
Girl Rescue: Dragon Out! has smash, slow, shuffle and longshot boosters available near the bottom of the screen as well. That said, the player must view ad videos to access these tools.
Over time, the player unlocks new characters and different dragons. They use their coins and the Skins button on the home screen.
