Get a Screw: Puzzle! is a sorting puzzle game that features hardware removal and object disassembly requirements. On each level, the player must remove colored screws holding together pieces of a floating three-dimensional object and sort the pieces into color-matched containers. They must also attempt to earn as many coins as possible to pay for extra containers, screw holes and boosters.
An object made of block shapes with and without stabilizing plates floats at the center of the screen. The player receives two colored containers and five screw holes above it. They select color-matched screws to fill the containers. They use the holes as free cells for non-matching screws to remove blocks from the object and reveal additional screws.
Get a Screw: Puzzle! allows the player to fill three or four containers at a time when they watch advertisements. The player also gains access to boosters, including a drill that installs an extra screw hole and a magnet that collects screws faster, and earn more coins when they view ads.
The boosters are extremely important because the game doesn't allow the player to use the last hole. If the player fills all the holes, the game tells them they failed the level unless they agree to spend coins or view ads.
