Gems Shooter is a timed bubble-shooting game set in a deep underground cave where a dragon has hoarded piles of gold and gemstones. Instead of traditional bubbles hanging from the top of the screen in horizontal rows, it features a smoky-colored semi-translucent rotating wheel that displays mixed gold-edged, hexagon-shaped gemstones and two curved rows of empty circular spaces.
The player attempts to remove all gemstones from the wheel as quickly as possible using a shooter at the bottom-center of the playfield by creating clusters of three or more color-matched gems. Unlike other shooters, the player starts out with the highest number of points for this game (10,000) and loses points with every second that passes. They must collect all the gems as quickly as possible to earn a high score. They can track the remaining number at the lower-left corner via a number next to a red gemstone icon.
Gems Shooter allows the removal of gems via avalanche moves, which means that any non-matching gems connected to a cluster of matching ones also pop and disappear from the wheel. That said, the game doesn't make each shot easy. The gemstones bounce and roll off other gems, which results in a projectile gem not always reaching a preselected empty space.
