Garden Tales: Mahjong is another game in the highly popular Garden Tales series. This time, the gnomes need a player's help with removing wooden tiles decorated with garden images, such as fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, flowers, trees and shrubs, tools, animals and gnomes, from a lawn where they've piled the tiles into classic and unique Mahjong patterns and layers.
The player removes tiles by matching two uncovered tiles at a time. They receive 100 points for every pair. The game also offers a multiplier feature. When the player rapidly removes tiles without errors, they receive a 1x increase in points. That said, the game also eliminates the multiplier and forces the player to start over with trying to achieve it if they must watch advertisements to use any tools to help them find matches.
Garden Tales: Mahjong supplies two tools for finding matches. The player can select a hint button to highlight two matching tiles. They can also click a shuffle button to reorder the tiles and reveal hidden tile matches. They only receive one free use of each tool. Afterward, they must watch advertisements. Each advertisement is just long enough for a golden timer ring around the multiplier display to disappear and reset the feature.
At the end of a puzzle, the player can compare their current score to their best one from all games. On the home screen, they can allow the game to choose a random puzzle or pick an unlocked puzzle manually. They can also unlock a locked puzzle pattern of their choice by watching an advertisement.
