Garage Master: Nuts and Bolts is a sorting and logic-puzzle game. From level to level, the player's goal is to sort nuts by color onto bolts to create different types of vehicles in a garage for customers based on specific orders (i.e., a scooter, a dune buggy, et cetera).
The player starts with painted nuts in mixed-color positions on several bolts against a wall of narrow, blue-gray, painted horizontal planks. They must arrange the nuts with one color per bolt. For example, they might arrange all gray nuts on one bolt and all blue nuts on a different one. They can only select one nut at a time and not, as seen with many similar games, in groups by color. They can only transfer a nut onto another nut of the same color. When they complete a four-nut vertical column on a bolt, microbubbles spurt out of the top of the bolt.
Garage Master: Nuts and Bolts requires the player to complete multiple levels to finish a vehicle order. For example, in the first round, they must complete the first 10 levels. The game allows them to skip a level by viewing an ad, but they must then play an extra level to complete their vehicle order. To make gameplay easier, the player can unlock additional bolts by viewing ads.
After the player completes enough levels, they return to the garage from the start of the game. The owner then prompts the player to choose and confirm the vehicle's paint color before they receive the next order and start a new set of levels.
