Galactic Golf Solitaire is a single-player card game. The player's goals are to clear playfields of layered face-down and face-up cards across rounds and earn the highest points possible.
Although the game has "golf" in the title, it doesn't offer traditional golf designs or action. It's a game of TriPeaks Solitaire set initially against a moving starfield. The player can update the background with other themes. They initially receive three unlocked backgrounds. If they watch ads, they can unlock additional ones.
The player uses high-low, next-card rules, which means they can only remove a top layer card that has the next highest or lowest value based on a face-up waste card's value. If the face-up card displays a Jack (J), for example, then the player can only select a face-up, unlayered 10 or Queen (Q) from the field. An Ace (A) offers unique gameplay. The player can select a 2 card in an ascending sequence or a King (K) in a descending one.
As with typical TriPeaks games, Galactic Golf Solitaire doesn't require matching suits. It only considers the value of the card and the player's ability to stick to the next, high-low card rules. The player can track their score at the upper-left corner next to a star. They can track their best score across all rounds in the upper-right corner next to a gold ribbon medal.
The game offers Joker (J) cards in place of Wild ones. For example, if the player has a 4 card and they can't find a 5 card or a 3 one, they can use the J card. Additionally, if they use the card to replace a 5 or 3 card, they don't need to worry about that value for the next selection. A Joker always represents a free turn to pick any face-up card.
