Fury Balls is an action-adventure, post-apocalypse game that features card-based skills and beer pong elements. The player helps a man named Emmett fight waves of attacking zombies as he travels on roads through his hometown, wastelands and other environments. To unlock new areas, they must constantly improve his health, defensive skills and fighting capabilities.
In each location and story chapter, the player decides how Emmett will fight and defend himself against zombies that wield axes, knives, shotguns, shovels and other weapons. They can only unlock the next part of the story by making certain that he survives wave after wave of attacks.
Although the game offers coin, gemstone and HP winnings at the end of a chapter, the player pays for new skills with white ping pong balls that appear after a zombie dies. When a wave ends, the game pans the camera to a vertical underground area that features two arms holding red beer pong cups, booster platforms, chutes and multiplier gates.
The player directs the upper arm to pour the collected balls down the shaft through the gates and into the lower cup. To earn the most balls, they must pour through high-numbered gates. If the game freezes because one or more boosters or gates generate too many balls, they can reload the screen and try a different drop zone.
Fury Balls allows the player to pick a new skill before each wave of the battle, such as a higher percentage of maximum health, attack strength or armor. Skill cards can also improve the chance to attack twice or perform a ricochet shot. The player must choose carefully. The enemy boss usually has thousands of health or hit points and high-damage weaponry.
